The City of Rochester Announces a Civilian Interview Panel as Proposed by UCLM

UCLM is pleased to announce that the City of Rochester has agreed to implement UCLM’s proposal for a Civilian Public Safety Interview Panel (CPSIP).

The purpose of CPSIP is to add a community voice to the hiring of Rochester police officers. Members of CPSIP will interview police applicants, looking for their potential to form good relationships with the Rochester community and to promote safety in a fair, just, respectful, and effective way. CPSIP will forward its recommendations to the Chief of Police, who will make the final hiring decision.
