UCLM’s Reverend Stewart Participated in Panel Discussion about Rochester’s Homicide Crisis. Watch on YouTube.

RochesterBeacon is hosting a panel discussion on Rochester’s homicide crisis and how it is affecting the community. While homicides have surged nationwide, Rochester’s per-capita rate is higher than in both Buffalo and Syracuse.  The panel will examine the factors that explain Rochester’s higher murder rate and how the government, police and community members can confront this problem.

In addition to Reverend Stewart, panel members include:

·       Irshad Altheimer, director, RIT’s Center for Public Safety Initiatives

·       Rafael Belliard, owner and operator of R&R Grab and Go and member of the North Clinton Business Association

·       Victor Saunders, special adviser to Mayor Malik Evans on violence prevention programs

You can see the entire discussion on YouTube.
