Update on the Police Accountability Board from its Newest Member, Arlene Brown

UCLM’s June membership meeting featured Arlene Brown, a Police Accountability Board (PAB) board member (Alliance Seat). Here were the main points she conveyed:

  • The PAB is gearing up and starting to evaluate submitted complaints

  • The board is working with the City Council to get original documents from police, who want to turn over the results of inside investigation to PAB.

  • Other PAB missions:

    • Program to teach kids how to behave safely in a police encounter

    • Publicize example of officers who are behaving positively above and beyond the call of duty
